You're looking at Mazda’s RX-8 for the year 2020 – unveiled today at the Los Angeles Motorshow. The Nagare concept car signposts Mazda’s new design direction for its next generation of sports cars. Japanese for ‘flow’ and pronounced ‘na-ga-reh’, the futuristic four-seater coupe follows on from this year’s Sassou, Kabura and Senku concepts and aims to depict motion and speed with dynamic proportions and unique surface treatments – key features of Mazda’s future models.
The Lotus Exige S V6 with the 3.5 litre Supercharged engine from the Evora S has started rolling off the production line at Hethel. How nice to be able to report a new car arriving from Lotus instead of more doom and gloom. The Lotus Exige S V6, with the supercharged 3.5 litre engine we first saw in the Evora S, has started to roll off the production line (actually, ‘production line’ me be a bit of an exaggeration) and is heading off to its new owner.
MILTON Keynes might already be famous for its concrete cows and numerous roundabouts, but soon it’ll also be known for its driverless cars. In a project aimed at boosting green technologies, a fleet of 20 driver-operated ‘pods’ will run on designated pathways separated from pedestrians. By mid-2017 it is planned that 100 fully autonomous vehicles will run on pathways alongside people, using sensors to avoid collisions with obstacles.
